GM NEWSLETTER

Dear All Members,

As we approach the end of our Summer Season and all keep our fingers crossed for a dry and enjoyable Winter I wanted to write and thank you all for your participation in a thoroughly enjoyable year for all at Calderfields Golf and Country Club.

The weather, as always, could have been kinder but we have all been pleased to see such high participation levels on the tee sheet. The Green Staff have worked tirelessly to maintain the golf course to an excellent standard, in my opinion, and I thank them all for their pride and efforts. They have a tough few months ahead in the cold and wet but I know Rob is looking forward to making several new improvements to the course ready for next year. I am very pleased to announce Rob and his team all won Employee of the month in August for their performance throughout 2014. Please keep an eye on the notice boards for the Winter Plan being released for all to see from October 1st.

I thank all the members for their contributions in the bar this year. We all enjoy looking after you on a daily basis and have particularly had fun looking after the team matches for the seniors and welcoming their competitors with a first class Carvery.

Events have been sold out throughout the year and we hope any members that attended had a great evening. We still have a Race Night on November 20TH where all profits go to the various sections for 2015, it is only £5.95 and includes entrance and a Curry. We also have a Halloween Party on October 31st for only £10 which promises to be great fun.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all committee members for their hard work and support this year, it has been very enjoyable and the lines of communication have been excellent. I hope you have all enjoyed your roles and your contributions have been greatly appreciated.

Enjoy the winter season and best wishes,

Richard Devine
